Abstract: This study investigates the role of industry certifications in enhancing employability among vocational education graduates in Nigeria. Industry certifications are recognized credentials that validate an individual's skills and knowledge in specific fields, yet their impact on employment outcomes within the Nigerian context requires further examination. The research aims to (1) assess the value and relevance of industry certifications in the job market, (2) analyze the perceived benefits and challenges associated with obtaining certifications, and (3) propose strategies for integrating certification programs into vocational education curricula. A survey research design is justified to gather insights from employers, certification holders, and vocational training providers. A sample size of 300 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent diverse industries and certification bodies in Plateau State. Case studies will explore institutions and individuals benefiting from certification programs. Findings indicated that industry certifications enhance job market competitiveness, validate skills proficiency, and facilitate career advancement opportunities. Recommendations include expanding access to certification programs, aligning certification standards with industry needs, and integrating certification preparation into vocational training to enhance graduate employability and industry relevance.
